Wednesday Night, LIVE! ~ Starting November 6
Choirs, Fellowship, Food!
This fun evening of music and fellowship has been a Holy Trinity tradition for more than 20 years. If you are in Joyful Noise (Children’s Choir Grades K-5), Bell or Chancel Choir (adult), or just don’t feel like cooking, plan to join us on Wednesday evening for dinner. There is no need to bring anything. Meals will be ready and a freewill offering will be collected to defray the cost of the food. Each week the dinner menu will be sent out and we simply ask that you let us know if you plan to attend. (Even if you forget to tell us, we still would love to have you!) The schedule for the evening is as follows:
5:45-6:15 PM Dinner
6:15-7:00 PM Joyful Noise (Grades K-5)
7:15-8:00 PM Bell Choir (Grade 6-Adult)
7:15-8:30 PM Chancel Choir (Adults)

Reformation Faire

This is a great opportunity for both new and experienced singers. We will introduce some of our music for the Christmas Season, get our robes and folders assigned and have a great time!
Regular weekly rehearsals start on Wednesday, November 6 at 6:15-7:00 PM

School Kits

Thank you Holy Trinity family for generously donating items to the 2019 WELCA school kit collection. We have sufficient supplies to fill 52 school bags and will be taking them up to the Lutheran World Relief warehouse in New Windsor MD in November for overseas transport.
Lutheran World Relief reminds us:
 “Education is one of the strongest tools a community has for breaking the cycle of poverty. Ensuring that girls attend school, especially in places where their access is deprioritized, has even stronger results. School Kits contain essential supplies to help children – and in some cases, adults – continue learning in the face of serious obstacles. That learning leads to a better life for them, their families and their communities.”
Well done Holy Trinity!
Each Fall Holy Trinity’s WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) group puts together SCHOOL KITS for Lutheran World Relief. Last year the congregation was asked to contribute to this effort and the results were amazing! This year our goal is to fill another 50 kits.

Mission Team News

Mission Team Info for September 2019

Our monthly meeting time has changed! We will now be meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the conference room beside the church office. All with a heart for service or ideas for service-type projects are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Mobile Hope Dates for SEPTEMBER:
Each month we prepare and serve hot meals on the Mobile Hope bus in Lucketts, VA. Mobile Hope is a local non-profit that supports children and young adults (24 years of age and younger) who are precariously housed, homeless, or at risk, living in Loudoun County. They work to change the future one child at a time, providing clothing, food, hygiene items, medical referrals, housing referrals etc.
Wednesday September 18 @ 6-8 pm:
Prepare meals in the kitchen at HTLC
Thursday September 19 @ 6-7:30pm:
Distribute meals on the Mobile Hope bus in Lucketts
Cookie bakers are also needed each month to bake cookies in their home and deliver to the church on Mobile Hope delivery Thursdays! To volunteer, please visit the HTLC website and click on the Mobile Hope Bus under the “Pitch in” tab. Our Sign-up Genius is available for you to select a date to help out!
You may have noticed the progress on our new HTLC WELCOME CENTER in the gathering area. We have been working hard to move this project along and look forward to having it up and running! After much discussion and thoughtful planning, we have come up with a design that will welcome new visitors to our church. It will provide information about new member activities, programming offered at HTLC and even provide a MAP of our beautiful church so people can navigate themselves.
If you are interested in helping to put the finishing touches on the welcome center, we would “welcome” your help! We will need volunteers to help with the layout of the information, to frame and hang photographs of the pastor, staff and council members, and generally get the information ready to be displayed. Anyone with some spare time or an interest in design can contact Amy Miller at fivemillersva@gmail.com.

 

Parents of Preschool & Elementary Students

On Monday evening, June 10th at 7:00 we will have a very important gathering to help shape the future of our ministries to and through our children and their families. We ask you to share one hour and fifteen minutes of your time to help us develop a ministry plan that can serve our families and children!
Our promise to you is that this meeting will be limited to one hour fifteen minutes. This is a one time event! Please come and share your ideas! Here are some of the questions we will explore:
• Sunday School: Time, Schedule — What are your children saying?
• What can we do to support you, the parents?
• What can we do to support families?
• What is the best time for Children’s Choir?
• How do we reach out to invite others to join us in our ministries?
• What is the best way to communicate?

Potluck Picnic

Join us for our annual Church Picnic for fellowship, friendship, fun, and great food!
Hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments and drinks will be provided. Please sign up at the church or contact the church office with your number of attendees and your choice of covered dish to bring.
A free will offering will be accepted to help defray the cost of the picnic.

Women’s Choir

All women (Grade 6 and above) are invited to join us for a special “short-term” Women’s Choir opportunity. This is the “second annual” event for this group and we hope to once again get a large group of women to participate. The rehearsal schedule is listed below. It is not necessary to attend all the rehearsals. However, we suggest that singers pick at least one rehearsal, plus the before service rehearsal on June 2.

Sunday, May 19 at 8:30-9:00 AM

Nic at Night

Plan to join us as our Joyful Noise Children’s Choir presents the wonderful story of Nicodemus’s encounter with Jesus at night! You won’t want to miss the suspense as we encounter Secret Disciples, a caterpillar, the Sanhedrin and most importantly, Jesus. This is a GREAT opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to visit our congregation. It’s not a worship service, but with are sure God will be with us!

The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Children’s Choir is made up of children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The children provide musical offerings during Holy Trinity worship services approximately once a month, and present a musical each spring. The group rehearses each Wednesday night, as part of Holy Trinity’s Wednesday Night, LIVE! (WNL) program. WNL is an intergenerational ministry for adults and children. The evening provides an informal atmosphere to grow in faith and experience Christian fellowship through shared meals, Children’s Choirs, Adult Choir, Bell Choir and various outreach efforts.
