Join us for our next meeting on November 5@ 10 a.m.
Tuesday, October 1, was the date for our October Women of the ELCA meeting. Bag lunches for the Leesburg homeless shelter were prepared and Mary Grant delivered these following our meeting. There was discussion about increasing the number of lunches we prepare each month as the weather becomes more inclement and the shelter has an increased need. A decision will be made in November regarding this issue.
Following a short business meeting (sign-ups, financial update) we continued our book study of Drew Dyck’s Just Show Up. Chapters “Show Up in Person” and “Find God’s Will with Your Feet” were shared. The themes of people needing our physical presence more than our words, and the need to keep walking on God’s path gave way to a lively and interesting discussion.
We received a lovely note from Melissa Logan, Principal at Frederick Douglass Elementary, thanking WELCA for leading the Fall community project KIDS – Expect the Unexpected at Holy Trinity. We are looking forward to participating in the annual Angel Tree project which will begin in November and also benefit the children at Frederick Douglass.
We welcome any women from our Holy Trinity congregation to join us!
